May 30th Grange Meeting & Potluck: Getting to know a Muslim neighbor

Of One Soul

Join us for our May General Meeting & Potluck when we’ll be joined by Aisha Morgan, who will talk to us after our meal.

Getting to know a Muslim neighbor

Islam is a religion followed by a quarter of the world’s population yet often misunderstood. At the May 30 meeting, we will have a chance to learn and ask questions. Aisha Morgan is active with the Interfaith Council of Sonoma County and its Muslim support campaign, Of One Soul. She is an observant Muslim and a longtime speaker on the topic who will provide a little background on the beliefs and practices of Islam and some of the challenges of living as a Muslim in Sonoma County. Aisha is a resident of Rohnert Park and commutes by bike to her work as Data Specialist for Santa Rosa City Schools.

In recent years she was the principal of the Islamic Sunday school of the Islamic Society of Santa Rosa and served on the board of the mosque. She has been a volunteer speaker for many years with Islamic Networks Groups (ING), speaking in classrooms and to groups of all kinds on many topics related to Islam and to interfaith.
