Mission Food: The Sebastopol Grange Swaps Abundance. Since 2019 the Grange has hosted a seasonal produce exchange/produce donation where community members share their surplus produce with other home gardeners or donate it to those in need. It has evolved to include advice and demonstrations from the local Master Food Preservers, Tend & Befriend events to help each other with home gardening projects and collaborations with other groups such as the Community Seed Exchange. A Virtual Farm was formed by a group of gardening and farming Grangers to advance local food resiliency, knowledge, and community building.
Join us in our mission of creating an economy of abundance. We will do more good, grow more food, create more beauty….thus creating stronger community, resiliency, and biodiversity.
Join us & Grow our community, it’s our 6th year!
What: This annual local project is organized to redistribute homegrown produce and eliminate food waste. This is an opportunity to trade surplus items from your garden for something you don’t have. You may also bring produce that you have gleaned (with permission of course) from a neighbor’s yard. You may also share and trade plant starts. We will be joined by the Master Food Preservers who have a wealth of information to pass on.
